Aug 03, 2014 Weapons, Claws, Tramples, Falling, Crushing, etc. Are covered by DR, but the Flaming ability on a sword ignores it. So does Polar Ray. Ice Storm (if it's the spell I'm thinking of) is reduced by it, because there's Bludgeoning damage in there, though the Cold part ignores DR.
Pathfinder seems to have some problems with giving PCs as much acid as it does fire or cold, even sometime electricity. That said, what you described is actually a metamagic feat (or class ability), so houseruling it is more than just flavor. Fire, cold, electric, acid. Caveat: I've GMd for a lot longer in 3rd ed than in pf, and still have a lot of 3ed stuff stuck in my head. I haven't don't a thorough sweep of the bestiaries to verify this is still true. Further Caveat: this is for all monsters you could possibly meet in a pf game.
